Price's Law

Price’s Law – 50% of work is done by the square root of the total number of people who participate in the work.

Therefore, 50% of work is carried out by a proportionally few ‘key or strategic employees’ compared to the total number of employees.

Questions to be thinking about…

--> How do you identify key or strategic employees?

--> What do your key or strategic employees want from you as the organisation?

--> What are you doing to meet these needs?

--> How do you train & develop non-strategic employees so as to increase the number of key or strategic employees?

INTERESTING; other theories where 50% of the metric is held by the square root of total contributors…

--> 50%; Classical music produced... Square Root; Total composers…

--> 50%; Mass of planetary bodies… Square Root; Total planetary bodies…

--> 50%; Global city size… Square Root; Global total cities…
